2. Clubs may enter one or two or three teams. Two clubs may enter a joint team. Competitors shall be under the age of twenty years on the day of the race for an Under Twenty team and Under eighteen on the day of the race for an Under Eighteen team, however, non-sailing members of a team may be of any age.

The date and time of the Race is as follows:-
SATURDAY JUNE 27th 2009. 0800 hrs - 2000 hrs.
The Race will take place on the Marine Lake. Southport. Merseyside.


4. The safety of the boat entered and her entire management including insurance shall be the sole responsibility of the owner/competitor racing the boat. Each team must have a named Team Manager who is a responsible adult approved by the Club or Organisation entering the team. The Team Manager must be familiar with his/her Club's or Organisation's Child Protection Policy. The Team Manager must also have a sound knowledge of sailing and be capable of making decisions regarding safety on behalf of the team and its members during the course of the event. The Southport Sailing Club, its officers and members, do not accept any liability for any injury or damage of any kind arising out of this event.
5. Classes will be restricted to International Enterprise, G.P.14 and Bosun dinghies. The race will be conducted as a combined class race, with the following handicaps. GP14 - 1121. Enterprise - 1121 and Bosun - 1198.
6. The minimum number in a team is four, however there is no upper limit to the number in a team.
7. Only one boat from each team may race, though entrants may hold a reserve boat of the same class, reserve sails and gear.
8. The course will be triangular; a chart of which will appear on the Sailing Notices Board on the day of the race. The course is approximately 1.5 kilometres long and comprises five marks. Marks A, B and C are orange buoys that shall be rounded in the order A, B, C and left to port. A fourth mark, D, is a white buoy bearing a black identification letter. D Mark shall be passed and left to starboard after rounding C mark unless acknowledging an infringement, in which case it shall be left to port.
9. The winner will be the team with the shortest average lap time. Timing of all boats will start at their flight starting signal and will continue until they finish. The total time will be divided by the number of laps properly sailed (adjusted for any penalties) to arrive at an average lap time.
10. Lifejackets or other Adequate Personal Buoyancy shall be worn by all competitors when afloat.
11. Protest flags will be required for this event.

Under 14 Trophy. For the boat sailing the fastest lap starting next after 1800 hrs by a helm under 14 years of age on the day with a crew under 20 years of age on the day. Presented by Southport Sailing Club.

General Information
The Galley will be open throughout the event.
The 2007 event will be the twentysecond time that the event has been held.
